EXPERIMENTS & FUTURE WORK

The zany scribbly note-book pieces that are so far from the "normal" work that I normally d , are an attempt at reaching out beyond the normal, trying to find something other than a picture of some thing or some place in an effort to illustrate a thought rather than a vision, a concept or a meaning in a collective of different but related things and events.

The swirling lines, hopefully suggest movement, or time. The colours will mean a mood, the images will speak for themselves simply by being recognized, and the composition that they make will hopefully suggest more than one concept and represent the huge Shemozzle that is taking over the earth, our dear earth that is suffering from a bad case of the humans.

Finding a new and different pathway is difficult, the only certainty is that the old one has come to an end.

It might be easy to say that the new path simply comes into view as the old one fades. But that wasn't so in my case. I simply found that I couldn't manage the technique of the previous style. My notions and ideas remained the same, the concepts haven't changed, just the methods.

The change has been coming for years, there are files of drawings and photo's and collages that were once interesting and kept as something put off for another time.

I think that anything new that comes of this will probably be a cocktail of lots of different thoughts and ideas that are somehow related and connected. In the differences there's a meaning that suggests something of the complexity of the human state.

The conflicting opposites that somehow form a common mass, some kind of orchestrated activity or bonding of many different energies.
